Transitions Optical Launches Sightseeing Tour to Educate Public

Transitions Optical officially kicked off its nationwide Sightseeing City Tour in Miami at the Great Taste of the Grove Food and Wine Festival in April and is back on the road to educate more consumers about the role vision plays in enjoying life’s experiences–and the importance of proper eye care and eyewear to see their best.

During the Miami event, Marybeth Bond, the Official Sightseer for Transitions Optical’s Official Sponsor of Sightseeing (OSS) campaign, showcased the Top 10 Sights to See in Miami, which were selected through online voting at SeeMoreSights.com. Transitions Optical also conducted more than 225 vision screenings and distributed educational materials and giveaways including Eye Didn’t Know That! backpacks for children containing collateral with family-friendly activities and more. Attendees also stopped by the booth to have their photo taken against a green screen and choose from a number of scenic “sights” for their background.

“It’s not only fun to discover the exciting sights each city has to offer, it’s also important to help consumers connect the dots between what they enjoy seeing and how vision makes it possible to have such vibrant and memorable experiences,” says Dan McLean, marketing manager, communications, Transitions Optical. “In Miami, it was the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens on Biscayne Bay that took the number-one spot on the list, and we’re looking forward to seeing which sights are selected as we continue the Tour throughout the summer and early fall.”

Additional Sightseeing City Tour stops include:
–    May 18-20 – Taste Addison, Addison Circle Park, Dallas
–    June 15-17 – Washington Brewers Festival, King County’s Marymoor Park, Seattle
–    July 15-16 – Taste of Chicago, Grant Park, Chicago
–    Sept. 20-21 – AARP’s Life@50+, Morial Convention Center, New Orleans

By visiting the Transitions Optical booth at these locations, or by going online at SeeMoreSights.com, consumers and eyecare professionals can continue to vote for the top sights for each tour stop and enter to win one of five trips in the United States. To date, nearly 170,000 people have visited SeeMoreSights.com to learn more about the Tour and vote.
