SECO International traveled to New Orleans this year, and the program was world-class. Here are highlights from CE, MedPro360, practice management symposia and other special events.

NEW ATMOSPHERE. SECO in New Orleans meant a chance to experience the local music, food and culture.

DEFINE SUCCESS. ROB Professional Editor Mark Wright, OD, FCOVD, urged doctors to define what success means to them, personally.

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT SUCCESS. Mick Kling, OD, noted that the tendency to live paycheck to paycheck in personal spending also often extends to how ODs manage their practice. He said that the personal and business approach to financial budgeting need to be tackled at the same time.

OPPORTUNITIES IN RURAL AREAS. There are ample opportunities to practice expanded medical optometry, with little competition, outside of urban areas.

 

 

MedPro 360. Doctors learned about how to take care of patients’ medical eyecare needs while addressing the needs of their business.

MEDICAL EYECARE OPPORTUNITIES. Attendees were offered a wide range of educational sessions on everything from ocular surface disease to diseases such as glaucoma and macular degeneration.

DRY EYE INNOVATION. Alcon launched iLux, a hand-held device that enables even small practices to introduce dry eye treatment.
