Review of Optometric Business will present “Pricing Optical Products to Maximize Gross Profits” on March 8, 2012, at 7:30 pm EST. This one-hour webinar, free to all who register, will be presented by Neil Gailmard, OD, MBA, FAAO, one of the most widely read and respected authorities in the field of optometric practice management.

The webinar is sponsored by CareCredit, a part of GE Capital that offers healthcare financing to consumers through a network of over 150,000 providers. The webinar is one of a series of business management courses presented by Review of Optometric Business in webinar form.

The webinar will be divided between a metrics-based presentation by Dr. Gailmard, and a half-hour Q and A in which Dr. Gailmard will answer and discuss questions raised by participants. The compete webinar, including the participant discussion, then will reside on Review of Optometric Business, an online weekly journal of practice building strategies and tools, where it can be replayed.  

Dr. Gailmard, the founder of Gailmard Eye Center in Munster, Ind., is the author of the popular “Optometric Tip of the Week.” He also is a faculty member of the Management & Business Academy, and he is co-founder, president and COO of Prima Eye Group.  

Course Description
Over the course of an hour, “Pricing Optical Products to Maximize Gross Profits” will demonstrate the impact that a retail pricing strategy can have on practice revenue and profit. Also examined in this webinar are why independent ECPs are able to command a pricing premium compared to retail optical chain providers. Other subjects to be presented and discussed include common pricing pitfalls, as well as practical guidelines for setting gross margin goals.

Learning Objectives
Participants in the webinar will come away with an action plan for conducting a retail pricing review and a method for establishing an improved pricing structure that is aligned with gross profit margin goals. They also will be able to monitor capture rates of eyewear and contact lenses.
