Prevent Blindness Launches Virtual Forum

July 13, 2016

Prevent Blindness is launching The Focus Initiative, a virtual forum for those working in the vision and public health sector. The Initiative expands on the existing annual Focus on Eye Health National Summit by capturing the philosophy and energy of that single-day event and expanding it into an ongoing, year-round experience, according to Prevent Blindness.

This professional network encourages the sharing of resources (research, webinars, events, etc.) among the vision and public health community. The Focus Initiative encompasses more than just the Focus on Eye Health National Summit to include webinars, a LinkedIn group, public health resources and reports, research grants and professional recognition, as well as training resources.

To view the related information and resources, visit www.preventblindness.org/focus. The LinkedIn group is designed to encourage sharing of new research, information and events among the vision and public health community. To join, visit www.preventblindness.org/linkedin.

To launch The Focus Initiative, Prevent Blindness announced its first webinar on the release of the upcoming National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine’s Consensus Study on Public Health Approaches to Reduce Vision Impairment and Promote Eye Health.

This webinar will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2016. Registration information will released in the upcoming weeks. To stay updated on the webinar registration, join The Focus Initiative LinkedIn group.
