New Vendor Partner Joins Program Dedicated to Supporting Independent Optometry

July 14, 2021

Twelve84 by Optical X has joined Acquios Advisors as a new vendor partner in its Acquios Alliance program. This partnership is designed to aid in furthering a mutual mission to help private optometrists stay independent and competitive.

Twelve84, named for the year glasses were invented in Italy, is an in-house brand bundled as frame and lenses “at an affordable and simple price.” The benefits of this new partnership include special members-only pricing for new and existing Acquios Alliance members. “Twelve84 has added a lot of value to our office and increased our capture rate. The warranty is the icing on the cake. Direct patient shipping is also a great time saver,” notes Twelve84 user and Acquios Alliance member Rachel Travis, OD, of Insight Eyecare Ky.

“Twelve84 offers great quality frames, lenses and coatings at a price point affordable to the patient, while providing a great avenue for private practices to compete against the online and corporate locations and still have excellent profit margins. In a very competitive environment, it is important to have a choice for your patients and Twelve84 is that option.” Tim Merrigan, VP of The Acquios Alliance, says.

As an optometric advising firm, Acquios Advisors describes itself as “founded to support private optometry offices as they grow, acquire wealth, knowledge, and to help them succeed in the best way for them. In early 2020, the Acquios Advisors team identified a need within the industry for the same kind of private practice advocate in the form of a buying group. Joining with like-minded vendor partners, the Acquios Alliance was created to Empower the Independence of Private Optometry Offices.”

“What excites us about being a vendor partner in the Acquios Alliance, alongside Acquios Advisors, is the sincere commitment the Acquios Advisors team has to the private OD. From their modest fee to guiding a practice through bank funding or acquisition, they are genuine in their ongoing efforts to help ODs optimize the success of their practice regardless of what stage they are in on their journey,” says Natasha Vora, CEO of Optical X.
