New Essilor Lens for Indy ECPs Combats Digital Eye Strain

Essilor of America is expanding its Eyezen brand portfolio with the addition of Eyezen+, an enhanced, everyday single-vision lens with embedded protection from harmful blue light.

Eyezen+ lenses are designed to provide patients with a small amount of accommodative relief to alleviate eye strain caused by today’s heavy use of digital devices such as tablets and smartphones.

Three Eyezen+ lens designs are available: Eyezen+ 1, for patients ages 18 to 34; Eyezen+ 2, for patients ages 35 to 44; Eyezen+ 3, for patients ages 45 to 50.

Eyezen+ are the only lenses in the Eyezen brand portfolio to contain the Smart Blue Filter feature, which is embedded into an aesthetically clear lens and designed to block 20 percent of harmful blue light. They are offered in a wide range of prescriptions and materials.

For comprehensive eye protection, Essilor recommends that Eyezen+ lenses should be combined with a Crizal No-Glare lens treatment. ECPs can add Crizal Prevencia for “the ultimate protection against harmful light,” Essilor says. Essilor is using a multi-channel marketing approach with Eyezen that is designed to reach younger emmetropes who are not actively engaged in their own eye health.
