Medical Device Excise Tax Conference Call Recording Available

On December 5, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) published its final regulations on the excise tax imposed on the sale of certain medical devices, enacted by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) (“Healthcare Reform”). After pushing for the exemption of eyeglasses, The Vision Council confirmed last month that the final rule excludes eyeglasses as a taxable item under this excise tax.

To help members better understand how this final rule affects the vision industry, The Vision Council hosted a conference call, led by its government relations team, on Thursday, December 20, 2012. Click here to listen to the recording from the call.
