The Management & Business Academy (MBA), a business-building program for optometrists that is sponsored by Alcon and Essilor, is a featured program at International Vision Expo West in Las Vegas, NV, this week. Mark Wright, OD, FCOVD, presents “Essentials of Financial Management,” a lecture that draws from a wealth of MBA data and resources. His session includes group workshops where participants exchange best practice growth ideas and construct action plans for practice growth. Dave Ziegler, OD, FAAO, presents “Essentials of Practice Marketing and Eyewear Merchandising.” This richly illustrated lecture spotlights examples of effective internal and external marketing from eyecare practices and from unrelated fields. He also imparts basic theories of optical product merchandising, drawing examples from a variety of innovative retailers.
