IDOC: Your Competitive Advantage

                                                                                         ADVERTORIAL

By Mark Feder
CEO, IDOC

In an age when independent optometrists must compete with corporate-owned eyecare providers and online retailers, in addition to other independents, a competitive advantage is needed. IDOC can be the tool that gives you the edge you need to profitably succeed. IDOC offers a combination of benefits that many other alliances only claim to offer.

Our mission is to unite independent practices so they have one voice in the eyecare industry and the future of our profession is protected. The strength of many practices united carries a lot of clout – we use that clout in a constructive manner to help our members’ practices grow and thrive, even in the current challenging environment faced by the independent ECP.

Key Conferences
Through IDOC University Conferences, doctors and their staff get the latest information on critical topics like healthcare reform. This fall our regional conferences are highlighting the changes facing optometric practices with the Jan. 1 implementation of the Affordable Care Act. You do not need to be a member of IDOC to attend these meetings – we welcome all independent ODs and their key staff to attend.

Rebates on Products & Services
In addition to educational opportunities, we offer some of the most significant discounts and quarterly rebates of all the optometric alliances and buying groups. The IDOC Member programs are strongly negotiated to allow the independent OD to more profitably invest in the products they use every day such as ophthalmic lenses, frames, contact lenses and equipment.

Consulting Services with Mark Wright. OD, FCOVD
IDOC Members exclusively benefit from the expertise and knowledge of optometric leader, Mark Wright, OD, FCOVD. As one of our industry’s most sought-after and well-liked professionals, Dr. Wright works with IDOC Members to identify key metrics and align them with their practice growth and profitability goals such as: how many patients they need to see each day to break even, the appropriate number of staff members for their practice, how their practice rates against industry benchmarks and the best exit strategy to achieve their retirement goals.

Business Management Education
Throughout the year, IDOC University offers business management education to grow top-line revenue. We’ll teach you how to open up revenue centers such as dry eye and AMD centers of excellence so you can diagnose, treat and prevent these conditions. We teach both clinical skills, as well as how to code and bill for these services correctly to get maximum reimbursement.

Staff Training Resources
Along with our business education and resources for the independent OD, IDOC provides education and training resources for support staff including front office employees, opticians and technicians. IDOC University Conferences always feature staff sessions so these vital members of your team know how to better serve patients and how to create a better overall patient experience. In addition to our in-person conferences, we’re currently developing an online educational program for support staff that will enable you to provide training for these employees without their leaving your office. These courses will teach optometric support staff how to operate equipment, how to conduct lens measurements and fittings, and how to code and bill.

Affordable Membership
All of IDOC’s benefits and services are part of our low annual membership dues of only $1,400, plus $100 for each additional practice location. For instance, if you own a practice with two locations, you will pay $1,400 and then $100 extra for the second office. What’s more, there’s no long-term commitment. Rather than locking practices into long-term memberships, ODs can discontinue membership at any time and dues are fully refunded minus any rebates that have been earned. Not surprisingly, we have an extremely high member retention rate

With so much to offer, it is an opportune time for you to take a step toward greater profitability by becoming a member of IDOC!
