Bryan Rogoff, OD, of EyeExec Consulting, breaks down the issues surrounding this, from artificial intelligence for better diagnosing, to legal, regulatory and privacy issues.
MEDICAL EYECARE ANALYTICS. There will increasingly be information collected about the ideal number of office visits, and the ideal medication regimen, for conditions such as glaucoma.
OBJECTIVE MEASUREMENT. Technology provides easy ways to objectively measure recovery from brain injury and improvement in sports vision and vision therapy.
ENHANCE EFFICIENCY. As reimbursements decrease, technology can make it easier to compensate in volume for the lower per-patient revenues. You can use data about the needs of patients to ensure you maintain a quality eye exam and office experience as you increase exam volume.
