The right material makes all the difference in contact lens wear. It means the difference between a contact lens your patients find unbearable by 3 p.m., and one they can wear comfortably every day until the moment they are ready to go to bed.

Educate Patients: Best Option for Their Eyes

One of the most important parts of our responsibility as eyecare providers is to always prescribe for our patients the products that are going to be the best for their health, their vision, and their lifestyles. When prescribing a contact lens, I look at a patient’s visual needs, as well as specific job requirements that may influence his or her contact lens wear.
Every patient has different needs. For example, a healthcare provider who works in a hospital setting might need to throw away her contact lenses after work so she doesn’t carry around the germs she was exposed to all day.

Moisture with Every Blink

I explain to patients that the nice thing about DAILIES® AquaComfort Plus® material is that it releases moisture with every blink, which can help to create a smooth ocular surface for better vision and comfort.

Only DAILIES® AquaComfort Plus® contact lenses are made with polyvinyl alcohol (PVA)

This unique, hydrophilic material is continuously released
into the tear film throughout the day.

That means that their eyes will stay comfortable working in front of a computer for long hours. The Blink-Activated Moisture release of the lens may help DAILIES® AquaComfort Plus® wearers maintain their active lifestyles with no need to worry that their contact lenses will become dry-feeling and uncomfortable.

Boost Patient Compliance

The ability to comfortably wear DAILIES® AquaComfort Plus® all day, and then simply throw the lenses away before going to bed, aids compliance with wear and care regimens. Daily disposable lenses are a healthy option. DAILIES® AquaComfort Plus® is a true daily disposable designed for single-use because it features a unique polymer called nelfilcon A that is not found in any other contact lens. As an example, DAILIES® AquaComfort Plus® contact lens wearers were shown to be 93 percent compliant with manufacturer-recommended replacement frequency compared to 69 percent for 1-DAY ACUVUE MOIST^ contact lens wearers.2,3

The greater compliance is not only better for patients, but also for my practice. When patients are not compliant, it reflects poorly on our practice by creating opportunities for unsatisfied patients. When patients are not compliant, they can suffer complications and think it is the fault of their contacts, or worse yet, their provider.

DAILIES® AquaComfort Plus®: Compliance + Comfort

When you combine the comfort of DAILIES® AquaComfort Plus® with the potential for patients to become more compliant, it’s easy to put this lens at the top of my list of contact lenses to prescribe. This is a true daily disposable lens with built-in compliance and a comfortable, affordable way for patients to wear contact lenses.
