Essilor Partnership with JCAHPO Results in New ECP University Materials

Essilor of America announced an agreement with the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO), a non-profit organization that provides certification and training for eyecare professionals (ECPs). Through this new relationship, JCAHPO will offer ECP University course materials in connection with its online training programs, which include the ophthalmology e-learning site ACTIONED.

JCAHPO will have access to more than 80 of the online courses currently being offered by ECP University in its New Dispenser Quick Start and Apollo for Advanced Dispensing Professionals programs. ECP University courses help doctors, practice owners and managers grow their own skills as well as empower their staff to build their practice.

“Essilor is pleased to share these valuable education resources with an expanded community of eyecare professionals,” says Jim Yarrish, director of ECP education, Essilor of America. “Through this collaboration with JCAHPO, we hope to further enhance the quality of patient care by fostering eyecare and business skills.”

The aim is for the learning materials to help ECPs achieve professional goals and better serve patients. “JCAHPO is committed to providing eyecare professionals with the learning resources they need to enhance their skills and advance their careers,” says Tyree Carr, MD, president, JCAHPO. “We are thrilled to offer such an extensive variety of comprehensive training courses to help increase the knowledge and skills of ophthalmic medical personnel as they work toward certification or re-certification.”
