IDOC announced that Gary Morgan, OD, a well-known independent optometrist from the Phoenix area, is joining its team as a consultant. Dr. Morgan will provide IDOC with support and expertise in a number of areas. In addition to his knowledge and experience in running a successful practice, he’ll also be focusing on designing the educational programs offered to members.
“Dr. Morgan is a highly regarded industry thought leader with regard to clinical advancement and new technologies, as well as practice management, says Mark Feder, OD, CEO of IDOC. “We take great pride in the quality of the curriculum we put forth at our national and regional conferences, local study group meetings and IDOC University, and we are certain that our members will reap even greater educational benefits with Dr. Morgan’s input.”
Based in Peoria, Ariz., Dr. Morgan will also be spearheading an effort to expand the highly successful IDOC Member Director (IMD) Program. The IMD Program features quarterly study group meetings that provide practitioners at the local level an opportunity to share ideas and solutions to the challenging issues they face today.
“I know from personal experience that the study group meetings allow IDOC members to gain valuable knowledge about best practices in the areas of clinical advancements and practice management,” says Dr. Morgan. “I’m very excited to be able to build upon the success of the IMD Program and gain the engagement of members and IDOC prospects who haven’t been involved with it before, as it will help empower them to provide the best possible care to patients.”
Dr. Morgan will continue to practice while he serves as a consultant, and thus, provide IDOC with current insights from interaction with patients and providers.
