Continuing education courses are offered online by 20/20 to opticians to assist them in meeting continuing education requirements for re-certification. Jobson believes continuing education plays a significant role in the credentials of eye care professionals (ECP).

The New Dispenser Quick Start Program is a series of courses and learning materials designed to quickly and effectively expand the service and technical competence of new dispensers. This program covers 18 online courses available in a structured 20-day time frame plus a hard-copy learning guide, coach’s guide, hands-on learning activities and practice exercises.

ABO and NCLE are national organizations for the voluntary certification of ophthalmic dispensers.

ABO, the American Board of Opticianry, certifies opticians – those who dispense and work with spectacles.

NCLE, the National Contact Lens Examiners, certifies those ophthalmic dispensers who fit and work with contact lenses.

NAO offers Continuing Education Courses for both American Board of Opticians (ABO) and National Contact Lens Examiners (NCLE) credits. The Academy offers these credits in either Home Study form or Online.

NFOS is the international organization dedicated to the promotion of formal opticianry education offered by accredited educational institutions. NFOS member schools are located in the United States and Canada. Educational materials and resources developed by the NFOS are available to all member schools. Students enrolled in NFOS Member schools are able to come to this site to access jointly developed curriculum materials.

Established in 1926 as the Guild of Prescription Opticians, the Opticians Association of America (OAA) is a national organization representing opticianry's business, professional, educational, legislative and regulatory interests.
