Healthy Option, Practice Builder
Gina M. Wesley, OD, FAAO, of Complete Eyecare of Medina, Minn., presents daily disposable contact lenses as a healthy option for her patients–and notes their practice-building potential, as well.
Handling Patient Issues
Patients considering daily disposables present a host of issues from cost to packaging to flexible wearing schedules. ODs should be pro-active in discussing these issues and have staff reinforce their answers.
Kids and Contact Lenses
Children, and often very young children, can be successful in contact lens wear–based on their level of responsibility. Daily disposables, which easily allow for backup lenses, are especially well suited for kids.
ACTION POINTS
Emphasize health and convenience. Talk about the advantages of a fresh clean lens each day.
Be proactive. Discuss patient questions–like cost–up front.
Get staff on board. Fit your staff with daily disposables and make them product advocates.
